Services

Everything between the first call and the flight home.

Thirteen things we do ourselves rather than subcontract. Most are included; the rest are quoted at cost.

What we actually do for you

Thirteen services, most of which you will never notice, which is the point of paying for them.

We are a small house, and the reason we stay small is that everything on this page is done by someone we employ. No dispatch apps, no third-party ground handlers, no white-labelled itineraries bought in from another operator. If something goes wrong at two in the morning, the person who answers can fix it.

01

Luxury safari planning

The whole of it: conversation, draft, revisions, bookings, briefing notes and a printed journey book that arrives before you fly. No planning fee, however many drafts.

02

Private guide services

Nine salaried guides, three of them KPSGA Silver. One travels your whole route. Specialist guides — photographic, ornithological, walking — brought in by request.

03

Luxury transfers

Vetted vehicles and drivers in Nairobi, Mombasa, Arusha and Kigali. Every driver known to us by name; no third-party dispatch, ever.

04

Helicopter safaris

Single-day and multi-day charters from Nairobi and Nanyuki: the Suguta valley, Lake Turkana, the Chalbi desert, and the Aberdare waterfalls with a picnic on a ridge.

05

Private air charters

Caravan, Grand Caravan and King Air charters between camps, with luggage limits and strip conditions checked the week you travel rather than the month you book.

06

Luxury accommodation

Forty-one camps, lodges and private houses, each slept in by this office within eighteen months. Exclusive-use bookings handled directly with owners.

07

Corporate & incentive travel

Board retreats and incentive groups to sixteen, on private conservancies with exclusive-use houses and a second vehicle per four guests.

08

VIP airport assistance

Airbridge meet, immigration fast-track, luggage handling and day rooms at both Nairobi airports. Included on every journey, not sold as an extra.

09

Destination weddings

Small ceremonies — twenty guests or fewer — on conservancy land and the Lamu archipelago, with licensing, officiant and logistics handled locally.

10

Luxury family travel

Exclusive-use houses, second vehicles, tracking lessons, and camps that mean it when they say child-friendly. Children from six on most itineraries.

11

Photography planning

Route and rhythm built around light, plus low-sided vehicles, bean bags, ground hides and off-road permission. Kit hire arranged in Nairobi.

12

Travel insurance assistance

We do not sell insurance. We tell you what your policy must cover for East Africa — evacuation, altitude, small aircraft — and check yours against it.

13

24/7 concierge

A Nairobi number, answered by one of three people who can move a flight, a camp or a doctor, at any hour your journey is running.

The part nobody advertises

What the concierge actually did last season

Moved nine parties mid-journey when the herds went the wrong way. Chartered a replacement aircraft out of Nanyuki at four in the afternoon after a magneto failure. Found a paediatrician in Nairobi for a family in Amboseli, and had him on the telephone in eleven minutes. Retrieved a wedding ring from a laundry bag in the Serengeti and flew it to Zanzibar.

None of that is in a brochure, and all of it is why people come back. It is also why we cap our own volume: three people cannot do this for four hundred simultaneous journeys, and we would rather turn work away than pretend otherwise.
