What to pack on safari
Pack light, pack neutral, pack layers. Wear neutral colours (khaki, olive, tan, brown) and avoid bright colours, white, and dark blue/black (which attract tsetse flies). Bring a warm layer for cold morning drives, sun protection, insect repellent, binoculars, spare camera batteries and memory cards, and any personal and antimalarial medication. Use a soft-sided duffel — internal flights limit you to about 15kg.
