Want to safari in style? From the city of Nairobi to Kenya’s greatest national park? Then you’ll want to learn about our two-day air safari from the capital city to the Masai Mara National Reserve.
No long road trips here – we’ll whisk you to local Wilson Airport for the easy two-hour flight to the famous park. We’ll take off at about 10:30 am and rise above the plains, farms, and forests of Kenya below as you head toward the park in the coolest way possible.
En route, the great snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro will welcome you to Africa’s vast natural wonders – a taste of your wildlife safari to come.
You’ll touch down at a convenient airstrip near the Masai Mara, where your Africa Kenya Safaris guide will be waiting with a private, open-sided/open-top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. You’ll arrive refreshed, having skipped the long road trip and now you’re ready to begin your first game drive over the park’s rolling hills.

What’s Cool About the Masai Mara?
What’s cooler than winging into a world-famous national park? The park itself stunning with its signature acacia trees dotting the landscapes. And lurking behind them and in the bush, you’ll soon discover dozens of the resident predators and grazers.
This is a significantly rich ecosystem as your guide will explain, populated with lots of big cats – many prides of lions, plus leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and more.
You’ll find all of Africa’s “Big Five” here including buffalo, elephants, and rhino. Infinite avian life fills the trees and skies with songbirds and raptors of all sizes and colors.
Down at the Mara River, you’ll discover a busy crossing of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, and more entering the park from the Serengeti. This is the site of the Great Migration, the largest movement of wildlife on the planet.
While at the park, take a cultural moment to learn about the local Maasai. You can visit a nearby village, meet these indigenous people, and observe their customs.

Day 1
Nairobi – Masai Mara
2 Hour Flight

9:00 am – It’s never too early to head out on safari, so grab your bags for the quick ride to Wilson Airport where you’ll board your Air Kenya or Safari Link flight. We’ll take off at roughly 10:30 am for the scenic journey over homesteads and views of towering Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance.
In no time we’ll be settling down on the airstrip where your Africa Kenya Safaris guide will be waiting with an open-sided/open-topped 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. Hop aboard and let’s get this safari started!
You’ll soon be greeted by the sight of rolling hills, dotted with Africa’s signature acacia trees. Look about – there’s wildlife everywhere on these savannahs. The Mara is the richest ecosystem in the region and you’ll soon be tracking for big cats, elephants, giraffes, antelope, and dozens of other species.
Your guide will bring you down to the Mara River, site of the Great Wildebeest Migration. In season you’ll be treated to a scene of thousands of them along with zebras and gazelle making their annual trek into the parklands.
Come evening, you can’t miss the Mara’s dramatic sunset – a heavenly display of color filling the land and sky. You’ll head to your safari lodge or tented camp for a relaxing dinner and time to reflect on this momentous day.
Day 2
Masai Mara – Nairobi
2 Hour Flight
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
We’ll rise with the sun – that’s what we do on safari! Let’s see as much as we can before heading back to Nairobi.
We’ll take an early morning game drive, discovering some new vantage points to view the wildlife in this idyllic setting. Look for antelope and gazelle emerging into the sunlight, eager to explore the new day.
Breakfast follows and then some more exploring, perhaps to some favorite spots you’ve discovered during your time here at the Mara.
We’ll head back to the airstrip for your 11:00 am flight and get you to Nairobi at about 13:00 hrs. (1:00 pm). There, an Africa Kenya Safaris rep will meet you and bring you back to your hotel or another place of your choice.
This is one fun way to safari – by air – seeing the landscapes from above and close up in your Jeep. And this is just a taste of the safari experience.
