A Summer Explosion of Wildlife
Have you heard of the Great Wildebeest Migration? It’s one of the most immense natural spectacles in the world and has been called the largest movement of animals on the planet.
Starting in the summer months of June and July hundreds of thousands… and up to several million wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and more herd over the Mara River flooding in from their breeding grounds in the Serengeti and into the Masai Mara Reserve in search of food and water.
Awaiting them on this yearly cyclic trek are every manner of predator – crocodiles in the Mara River and beyond that, lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas. The resulting dramatic display is an incredible scene of survival for both predators and prey, with the vast majority of the invading grazers surviving and moving on in a great train through the Mara lands.
And, all this will take place this coming summer, so factor that into your safari plans.
