Who says you have to make a huge time commitment to go on safari? You might think that Kenya day trips are one thing, safaris another. However, if you are in Nairobi Kenya, then you are ready to venture out in all directions for some outstanding one-day Africa safaris. We’ll hit the road early in a customized pop-top 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep on the way to wildlife parks with exotic names like Hell’s Gate, Naivasha, Nakuru, and Ol Pejeta.
In just a few short hours you’ll be standing before the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro viewing great herds of marching elephants, or at high-altitude lakes filled with hippos and colorful birds, or at a special conservancy getting up close to endangered rhinos and chimpanzees.
Africa Kenya Safaris offers many exciting one-day safari tours to wildlife parks where you’ll discover big cats, zebra, giraffes, and plenty of wildlife surprises on game drives and walking, sailing, and even bicycling safaris. This will be a very full day of exploring the land, the animals, and even the native peoples of East Africa.
Amboseli National Park
Ever seen photos of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro with herds of elephants standing before it? That picture was taken at Amboseli Park, a photographer’s dream and elephant lover’s paradise. There are so many of these great tuskers here you are guaranteed to see them… lots of them!
But you’ll also find lion, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo, and exotic birds in this busy and popular park.
We’ll start early to ensure you have plenty of time for the three big game drives we have planned for you. We’ll enjoy breakfast and then head out to discover the many elephants in the park. Above in the trees and sky, look for raptors like falcons and eagles.
If you wish, we can even make time for a visit with the Maasai at their local village. You’ll meet these indigenous people and get a close-up look at their homes and pastoral lifestyle.
Lunch is also included and we’ll head back to Nairobi in the late afternoon.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta makes many claims: it’s the closest park to Nairobi where you can see all of Africa’s “Big Five” – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. It’s also home to endangered chimpanzees and rhinos, protected in special refuges. Plus, it’s one of the few parks you can spot rare African wild dogs.
We’ll head out early, taking in views of Mt. Kenya along our route and stopping at the notable point where we cross the equator. At Ol Pejeta we’ll be looking for the big game – the park hosts the highest density of predators in Kenya. But we can also stop at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary there, the only place in the country where you can see these playful and intelligent creatures.
Lakes Naivasha, Nakuru & Hell’s Gate Parks
These Rift Valley lake parks are near each other so we can explore them in a day and even make a stop at nearby Crescent Island Sanctuary as well. The lakes are home to unusual avian varieties like cormorants, herons, kingfishers… and sometimes bright pink flamingoes.
Lake Nakuru hosts a rhino sanctuary and leopards have been spotted here as well. Choose to go on a sailing safari across the blue waters of Lake Naivasha, where you’ll glide past hippos as antelope, and zebra graze on the nearby shore.
At dramatic Hell’s Gate park, you can bicycle past steam vents and grazing giraffes, gazelle, and buffalo. And finally, take a guided walking safari at nearby Crescent Island getting up close to zebra, impalas, and colorful flocks of birds.
All of these full-day safaris feature breakfast and lunch, a private 4 x 4 Safar Jeep, and a friendly, expert safari guide. We’ll pick you up at your hotel, the airport, or another place of your choice. All you have to do is contact us!
