Full-Day Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary
We call it ‘Day Tripping’ from Nairobi because the Ol Pejeta Sanctuary is close enough to our capital city for a comfortable day tour. And yet, you’ll find wildlife here you won’t spot anywhere else in Kenya!
This cost-effective group tour departs every Saturday and Sunday, with other adventure-minded souls like yourself in a shared 4 x 4 Jeep. But everyone gets a window seat!
You’ll head out early, 5 a.m., to ensure you have plenty of time at the park. And once there, get ready to spot a rich variety of wildlife not seen in most reserves. All of Africa’s “Big Five” are here – lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and lots of rhinos at the park’s unique sanctuary. Plus cheetah, hyena, and the rare African wild dog.
And, this is the only reserve in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees in a natural habitat at the park’s Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. These intelligent creatures have been orphaned or abandoned. Here at the reserve, they are nursed back to health. This is a very full day of game spotting and a great intro to the safari life.
Two Day Masai Mara Discovery Safari
The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most popular African safari wildlife park and is known throughout the world for its many prides of lions and the great wildebeest migration from July through October.
This is a private tour so you can discuss with your guide which areas of the park you’d like to explore over your two busy days here. But you can’t go wrong as the reserve is teeming with wildlife, over 95 species of mammals, including all the big game.
We can travel down to the Mara River, site of the incredible influx of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles pouring into the park on their yearly cycle searching for water and taller grasses. Waiting for them at the river and throughout the reserve are the many predators that depend on these grazers for their survival – crocodile, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and more.
The great Mara always creates unforgettable moments of safari discoveries.
Elephants on Parade Safari
Elephants are everywhere at Amboseli National Park – so many you are guaranteed to see them on this two-day private tour.
Located near the base of Africa’s tallest peak, majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, Amboseli has a reputation as being one of the continent’s best places to view the big tuskers. And with the background of the world-famous peak framing the elephants as they march to their watering holes, you can’t take a bad photo here.
Besides the elephants, the other African “Big Five” are found in this compact park and your odds of seeing them are excellent as the rangers and your guide know where the wildlife gather.
Besides the wonder of so much wildlife and the picturesque framing of Kilimanjaro standing guard over the park, there are other explorations to be enjoyed in this very popular reserve.
Visit Amboseli’s original human inhabitants, the Maasai people at their local village. You’ll be transported to another time as you meet these aboriginal people and learn about their culture and lifestyle.
Lakes to Lions Safari
We have packed a lot into this four-day African safari, taking you from the Rift Valley lake parks in the north, all the way south to the famous Masai Mara. You’ll discover varied and colorful birdlife, stunning acacia forests, and the great rolling savannahs of the Mara with all the wildlife it holds.
We’ll start at the lake parks of Nakuru and Naivasha, where you’ll enjoy riding, walking, and sailing safaris. Imagine sailing past hippos while giraffes and antelope graze nearby on the shore. You’ll see pelicans, cormorants, kingfishers, and maybe some bright pink flamingos.
We’ll also find rhinos, giraffes, monkeys, and sometimes a cheetah or two at these lake reserves.
Then we’ll head south for big game spotting at the Masai Mara National Reserve. Its eco-system is known to be the densest in the region and that means lots of the big cats.
Plus, if you’re here during the season (July – October) you’ll be treated to the sight of the greatest movement of animals on the planet – the great migration.
It is a stunning onslaught of wildlife never to be forgotten.
