Why unique?
Just a quick hop from downtown Nairobi you can find yourself in a true wildlife park, with lions, rhinos, buffalo, cheetah, hyena, and more. Here in this national park, you can see wild giraffes loping through the trees… against the background of Nairobi’s skyscrapers.
But Nairobi National Park isn’t a zoo – it’s a true park where the wildlife runs very much… wild. Finish breakfast at your hotel and within minutes you can be discovering wildebeest and zebra moving through the park on their annual migration.
And now, we’re offering twice daily trips to this most unusual of Kenya’s parks. Mornings or afternoons, join the group for guided tours of all the wildlife like hippos, ostrich, big cats, and a colorful menagerie of birds.
A Few Special Reasons…
…why the park is so unique: As mentioned, it’s the only protected wildlife area in the world situated right next to a capital city.
Once you get past that astonishing reality, the park distinguishes itself in other ways. Like the abundance of rhinos. The exotic and shy rhino is not always an easy find at many wildlife parks. Not so here. The park holds and protects the largest population of endangered black rhinos in Kenya.
“Kifaru” means rhino in Swahili. The park’s reputation for the care and nurturing of rhinos is so widespread it has earned the nickname “Kifaru Ark”. The park even supplies other reserves around the country with its surplus of these wonderful creatures.
Come Walk The Trails With Us
Not all national parks allow you to leave your safari vehicle and make discoveries on foot. But Nairobi National Park offers plenty of well-marked trails you can explore. We’ll take you on a safe guided walking tour, including a path to a hippo pool, where you may spot crocodiles as well.
Other sightings we may come across on the trail are rhino, buffalo, and possibly the big cats – cheetah, leopard, or lion.
No Poaching!
Here’s another notable site you can discover on your tour of the park that you won’t see elsewhere – the Ivory Burning Monument. It’s a commemorative mound of burnt ivory ashes – a protest and a warning to poachers who have hunted elephants for their ivory.
This dramatic symbol was created to raise awareness of the worldwide poaching problem and stands as a commitment to protecting Kenya’s vulnerable elephants.

We will pick you up at your hotel, airport, or other location of your choosing. Or, just meet us at the park for a half-day guided tour of this amazing wildlife reserve.
Morning tours begin at 6:30 am. The afternoon tour starts at 1:30 pm.
